This mixed media acrylic on canvas with glass beads, sequins & foil ribbon, depicts the feeling of relief we feel when we discover that we are attached to a person, an object, a career, a thought, or any life situation, and we allow ourselves to remain equanimous while our ego continues to broadcast the virtues of clinging to the attachment. As we begin to see things as they are, we discover that nothing is permanent, nothing is solid, and nothing is independent of anything else. When we contemplate our attachments we also see that they are a reflection of an inner fear of not been worthy of love, affection, recognition. As we allow ourselves to release the object of our admiration, we also release its opposite: aversion. We remain light; we express joy, because we feel deep love and appreciation for everyone and everything.
